In a recent survey by Stamps.com, 64% of online retailers say that free shipping is the most effective promotion for Holiday shopping. In second place was a related response – discounted shipping fees. Free and discounted shipping rates usually equal less shopping cart abandonment and, when a minimum purchase is required, more dollars spent per customer. On average, 53% of retailers said they will be offering free shipping – an increase from those who did last year.
