For sellers on Etsy things lately can seem distressing. The forums are being changed and most are being phased out in favor of Teams. Alchemy is being closed for an indeterminate amount of time until it’s revamped. For those Etsy sellers who relied on the forums or Alchemy for the bulk of their business it can seem disastrous.
This is why I’m writing an article encouraging people to build flexibility into their businesses. If you are relying on one or two traffic sources to bring you all of your business a change could leave you scrambling. You should try to have a broad range of ways that people come to your business. Imagine for a moment that 80% of your business comes via a single social network. What would happen if that network suddenly shut down? You’d be in serious trouble, you’d have to build your business back up practically from scratch.
